Inheritance tax or inheritance tax charge in Flanders in a straight line

Inheritance tax or inheritance tax are taxes paid to the survivors of the deceased assets, net of any debts and funeral expenses.

To calculate how much you have to pay inheritance tax, there are a number of factors that you should take as the total value of the estate, the residence of the deceased and the degree of kinship with.

What about inheritance in Flanders? There are three different situations based on kinship.

A straight line between spouses and cohabitants:

  • 0.01 to € 50,000 - 3%
  • 50,000 to 250,000 - 9%
  • Above 250000-27%

Between brothers and sisters:

  • 0.01 to 75.000 to 30%
  • 75,000 to 125000-55%
  • Above the 125000-65%

Among others:

  • 0.01 to 75.000 to 45%
  • 75,000 to 125000-55%
  • Above the 125000-65%
