World on chairs: Game about world population and income ratio

World on chairs is a playful introduction to the North-South theme.

Goals
The players gain insight into the distribution of the world's population across the different continents. Then they consider the unequal distribution of resources across the same continents.

Game description
This game is based on the participants' own experience. They experience the contrast between rich and poor on a global level and look for solutions together.

The game proceeds in two or more rounds. In the first round, the players themselves look for the distribution of the world's population across the different continents.

This forms the starting point for other possible discoveries such as: In which continent do most people live?, How is income distributed around the world?, Where are the refugees in the world? …

Step by step, the players come to surprising conclusions and gain more insight into the North-South problem.
